Break out the summery cocktails and crank up the Hawaiian tunes, long summer evenings cry out for a tropical-inspired party! Shantel wanted to celebrate her husband Dave’s 40th birthday with a warm, fun and casual celebration. Aloha 40! Think green and white – pineapples, golden flamingos, and monstera leaves.

Tropical-inspired parties are an on-trend theme and the best way to kick off summer. Dave and Shantel’s friends eased into the evening along a Hawaiian style bamboo torch-lit path. They were met with a smooth guitarist playing tropical tunes.

We turned up the tropical vibe in the party location with an abundance of lush greenery. We served a tropical-inspired menu under festoon lights and a starlit summery sky.

The mimosa bar was serving a selection of ‘summery’ versions of classic cocktails. Coupled with the Hawaiian tunes, the guests were lulled into a tropical reverie!

Hawaii, palms, pineapples and summer, inspired the decor. The colour palette included the traditional tropical colours of green and white. I also introduced some textures like wicker, hessian and rattan. We turned up the sense of luxury with black and gold. It was such a stylish celebration and the perfect way to welcome the season of summer and celebrate 40 fabulous years.
