A Bright sunflower baby shower for a ‘mum to bee’

Pritika gives us a round-up of the day;

I organised a baby shower for my friend late in October. With the help of a few other friends, as well as Pelin at Picture Perfect Planning and, it turned out to be a huge success. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the decor, the games, the food and drinks. We all had a blast and my friend, ‘mum to bee’,  was very happy, and that made all the stress of organising this worthwhile.

We can’t help but have a smile on our face after all this sunny yellow!

A retro-inspired indoor picnic

Their idea was to create a kids Winter picnic, one that could be celebrated indoors. Caramel tones were added to the look, creating a warm vibe, very reminiscent of the current trend for retro-style muted-tones.

Jasmin tells us;

Kim (the stylist), and I wanted to create something warm and inviting for these cold wintery indoor picnics. I loved the creams and terracotta tones, warm caramels with a hint of party with the disco balls. A stylish, sophisticated kids picnic, with the flair to add some cool disco music and party the evening away!

A vintage Teddy Bear’s picnic party

Teddy Bears’ Picnic is such a gorgeous theme for a party and one that all children love.  When designing and creating this pastel pink Teddy Bear’s Picnic, it was all about the small details which when styled together to make for the prettiest vintage look.

When planning, I wanted to keep the traditional part of a teddy’s bear picnic with 
blankets, but also wanted to have a pretty area where I could set up a party table and keep the food and drinks away from the ground.

The party table was styled in pastel pink and lace. Custom-designed labels for the lunchboxes and milk cartons carried the theme through the table styling, the lunch boxes were a great way to pack the picnic food for the guests, and the milk cartons perfect for this theme as thank you gift boxes,  The gorgeous honey pot cookies were my favourite
and looked almost too good too eat!

My favourite area to create was the actual Teddy Bears Picnic. It featured a collection of vintage Teddy Bears set-up on a lace blanket and styled on vintage trunks and vintage books. Each teddy bear had its own card with ‘Adopt Me’ or ‘I’m Looking for my Forever Home’. It was a cute and pretty set up perfect for a summers day picnic.

Arizona inspired cactus bridal shower

Favor Lane Party Boutique designed a bridal shower incorporating the current trend of succulents, cacti and desert hues to reflect the rocky landscape of Arizona.

What inspired you to choose Arizona for this party?

The desert mural wall in the laneway of Feld + Co captured my attention about 12 months ago. The minute I saw it I knew I had to use it one day. 

What influenced the theme and styling?

The desert landscape of Arizona which matched the mural so well!

Which DIYs or party trends did you incorporate into your shoot? 

I incorporated blush and emerald tones as these are quickly becoming a popular customer choice in our store.

Vanessa tell’s us ‘Peita’s love of her Mini-Land dollies and dolly accessories were the inspiration for her 2nd birthday party – a dolly picnic with all her dolly and human friends!’ The party was complete with her vintage cane doll furniture, a pram and stunning pastel blooms and balloons. Peita was even spoilt with her very own dollhouse in form of her birthday cake – made by her talented mama!

Why yes, that is indeed the CAKE!

The doll and dollhouse set up sat stunningly on a cart featuring yummy desserts, fab florals and a balloon display.

It’s the little details that complete the theme…how cute are those clothes!

Of course, there were also dolls to play with!
