We challenged 23 talented party vendors to design a party inspired by a USA location.

The team from Confetti Dust Studio (all the way from Anguilla) designed a Colorado inspired camping birthday party that celebrated the great outdoors!

What made you choose Colorado for United States of Party?

A camp themed party required an outdoor setting. We wanted to incorporate the natural elements of our surroundings and create a space that evoked a real camp site. The big open skies and natural greenery of the landscape were taken into consideration.

What inspired your shoot?

Firstly, we were inspired by the outdoors of Colorado. Colorado is ranked as one of the best states in America for camping. We wanted to use lots of earthy colors but alsodecided to add a modern twist to our setup by incorporating the black and white stripes that mimic camping tents. Of course, it was only fitting to also tie in bufflo check patterns throughout the setup to give it a cosy camping feel. We also added small pockets of bright colours – yellow and red on the cupcakes and cake that depicted camp fire flames.

Did you incorporate any current party trends or DIYs in your shoot? If yes, what were they?

One party trend was the play zone. Party planners have started creating play areas for children in their party setups. Play areas are fantastic because they add an element to the party setup and they encourage play and because of this we incorporated two tents in our party. The tents not only add to the overall theme of the party but it also acts as a play area for the children to play and run wild with their imaginations during the party.

Another was the trail mix bar – candy stations are popular and they are still trending!! However, we decided to create a trail mix station with a variety of snacks for the little ones and the parents. The trail mix station was fitting for the camp theme and we wanted to offer a variety of snacks for the little ones.
