An action packed superhero 4th birthday party

Calling all superheroes! You are invited to join us for a super celebration as I take you through Matthew’s 4th birthday celebration, inspired by his interest in superheroes saving the day! Packed with POW-erful party details, that will knock you off your feet!

This memorable fourth birthday was action-packed. As soon as the little party guests entered it was like they had stepped in to a comic scene! They were met with fun superhero masks along with a fabulous cape waiting for them to hero up!

I like to use my imagination and put extra effort into decorating a table. On this occasion, I chose a palette of four different colours. I used a mix of yellow, red, blue and teal, and presented black buildings at the centre of each table which were the perfect pedestal for the superheroes to stand tall. Teal Eames Replica chairs from Allegra & Grace added a pop of colour. The fabulous teal and yellow plates from Favor Lane Party Boutique topped off with super hero words by Just Add Confetti added another element of fun! The colourful handcrafted superhero capes were a hit with all the party guests!

Jasmin from Epic Installs is the woman behind the fabulous backdrop. I love the burst of colour, texture and movement it brought to this party. It’s a bold statement that says: Superhero Action. It truly made the light up number 4 stand out (thanks Ivan from Lit Letters Perth for providing the number 4).

One of the highlights was definitely the incredible balloon installation from Oh Lala balloon Bar. Chey used a mix of teal, yellow, and red balloons. I loved the burst of colour and sense of fun it brought to the party!

I am sure you will agree with me, that Anita from Design My Party did an absolute outstanding job with the fabulous superhero design! Anita created the invitation, the bottle labels, cutlery wraps, welcome sign, hotdog sign and stylish mini signs. It was fabulously fun, creative, colourful, and unique!

There is nothing more important to us than long lasting memories from any My Little Party event. Anel from Anel Photography is an incredibly talented photographer who captured all the important details of this fun celebration, including the beautiful shots of Matthew, Ethan, Sam and Tait.

A celebration isn’t a party without entertainment right? Perth Toy Hire’s hexagonal ball pit was a big hit with Matthew and his little party guests as they pretended to be Perth’s next crime-fighting superheroes!

Interested in further details of the celebration? Like um, lets say the catering? Of course you are! We really saved the day with this super-delicious menu that not only WOWed the caped crusaders – even the villains weren’t able to resist! We served these super-delicious treats:

super sandwiches
super sausage rolls, and
salted caramel POPcorn

I had the great pleasure of teaming up with Lisa from Cakes to Celebrate by Lisa who created the most delicious cake, featuring a fun cake topper from Foote & Flame, specially designed for the birthday boy.

This party truly captured the action of being four years old. If you want to give your favourite little caped crusader a party they will soar over skyscrapers for why not create one just like this one for your next little party! You are most welcome to use any of the above ideas. Alternatively, I’d be delighted to do all the hard work for you! Hosting a child’s birthday party is no mean feat, as any parent can confirm. There are so many things to organise. Wouldn’t it be great if you could get rid of at least some part of the mammoth task by outsourcing it?

Harry’s Superhero vs Villain 30th birthday

Marvellous! Outstanding! Unique! In true comic book style, superlatives are the most suitable way to describe this grown-up superhero affair. The theme was all about superheroes and villains, and the colour scheme was black, green and anything gloomy This party was magnificently styled by the team at Sass Events. Here is what Sass Events told us about this party, AKA Harry’s Superhero vs Villain 30th birthday!

Details from Harry’s Superhero vs Villain 30th birthday

When our client Maria contacted us to style her brothers 30th birthday approximately a month before the event, I was super excited! I knew this had never really been done before and was ready to dive into planning straight away.

They had decided on a theme which was fitting to Harry’s love for the superhero world –superhero versus villains. The theme was first introduced with the matching invitation, designed with a dark black and grey background and silhouettes of Batman and Joker. Harry’s invitation details were written in bright green neon style font, which set the tone for the whole event. It was to be dark and moody, mature and sophisticated –our head creative designer Jess was excited and the challenge was accepted!

We designed a concept that had not been seen before. A black and white comic style backdrop was made in vinyl and cut to size to suit a backdrop hired from The Treasure Room. It consisted of 2 semi-circles in different heights, to create an overlapping feel, which was then applied and stuck on. The process in itself is tedious and took approximately 3 hours to perfect.

The backdrop was adorned with black and green orbs balloons to give it that extra POP of colour. We wanted to make this sophisticated and quirky, not the usual superhero party that we’ve seen done so many times before. Even our life-size cutouts were designed to be realistic figures that stood at 1.8 meters tall.

The custom cake table created by The Treasure Room was a statement in itself, with a matte charcoal base and acrylic black slats to represent the city skyline.

I contacted our friends at Cake Salon and gave them a brief on our theme “dark and moody superhero vs villains “ and left it to them to create a masterpiece, and they definitely delivered!

Dell was inspired by the talented @by.aletoso.

At Sass Events we love the finer details, we think they’re really important and emphasise any event, so we also contacted Jay Productions who provided us with lighting which we set alongside the entry of the house for guests to follow and make their way down to the party.

Comfort and practicality are big things we pride ourselves on so we made sure there was enough seating for all guests young and old.

We styled the main tables with black and blue marble chargers, gold cutlery and blooms that were bursting with different shades of bright greenery contrasting beautifully against black roses. It was the perfect colour palette for this contemporary event.

We’re still in awe over this event and all the details that brought it to life!
