So excited to put this 80s birthday party on the blog! It was styled and curated by Deets & Things, an uber-talented event designer out of SoCal. Considering my current obsession with the eighties, geometry and colour pops, this party speaks right to my heart.
Scroll down for the funky details!
Details from the kids 80s party
Stripes, bright colours and geometric elements are essential to any eighties party, and all featured on the table set up.
Loving the chrome effect on the green balloons too! Look closely, you’ll see that it has been designed to achieve a colour blocking look. The bright florals were also a perfect match for the bold tones of the party.
What I love is how this party captures the essence of the eighties without being cliche and overwhelming. The 2 tone placemats, striped plates, cassette tape cookies, and layered geometric elements are on point!
Even the little stirrers are perfectly coordinated! The laser cut place names are genius –very reminiscent of the popular 80s Memphis design.

The styling was beautifully coordinated–uncluttered and harmonious. This even extended into the cakes. Look out for a close up of that topper too!
Check out these perfectly attired cuties! Can we just call this party ‘Cute to the Max’?
The giant boom box pinata makes for a perfect prop – colourful, fun and can be used as a party game!
The colour scheme and geometric motifs were also used on a backdrop which were part of a lounge area.
Shut the gates– those cookies are awesome!
