Your starter guide to Galentine’s Day ideas!

I know it is still six weeks away but already the Valentine ‘cupid’ is lurking. The cards are out in the supermarkets and those little fluffy, red hearts with quotes on them are popping up in florists.

Having flown solo for, well, too many Valentine’s Days to count, I thought “You know what? Who cares if I am single, I am celebrating Valentine’s Day!”

Valentine’s Day is about love, it’s not about ‘lovers’ so I am going to celebrate the love I have for my girlfriends. I am very fortunate to have some wonderful women in my life who have been there through thick and thin (and fat and skinny!)

So this is an ode to girlie friendships. To those late night teary phone-calls, to those slightly weeing your pants from laughing too hard, to the secrets to forever be held and to the knowing look without words that they have your back.

As Carrie Bradshaw said “Maybe we can be each other’s soul mates and then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with.”

 

 

So time to prepare that party. Not wanting to go too over the top with the typical Valentine’s paraphernalia I thought a modern style would be best suited for a Galentine event.
