Parties don’t always need to be about hiring a blank canvas and bedecking with decor. In fact, I love the idea of booking out a table or two at your favourite restaurant and getting really creative with the intimate space. This is exactly what Jeannie Yeoh from A Blush Moment did for her romantic chic 30th birthday dinner. Continue on to read about this dreamy milestone birthday!
A romantic chic 30th birthday dinner
Before becoming a full-time wedding and party planner, I was the go-to person among my friends for creative ideas. From birthdays to bachelorettes and bridal showers, I loved every aspect of it. Ironically, having done professional parties and weddings for the past 3 years, now all I want to do in my free time is to sit back, relax and do no planning at all. I’m not saying that I don’t love my job. I absolutely love it! However, as an entrepreneur, I always try to find the right work-life balance in order to be fair to my family, friends and my couples.
With that said, for my 30th birthday, I decided to plan an intimate dinner for my closest friends in collaboration with my favourite vendors. I wanted the dinner to reflect my style as a planner and who I am as an individual.
The theme of the dinner was romantic chic, so I chose to go with a neutral palette with soft muted colours such as pinks, greys and whites. For contrast I also added a pop of burgundy in the flowers and the wine glasses.
I started my day being glammed up by Janet from Ford Beauty. Judy from Parkette Floral Design created beautiful single bulb arrangements that ran through the entire length of my table. Large balloons hovered over the table were arranged beautifully by Laureign from Sugargirlee.
In between the single bloom vases, I had the venue prepare some meat and cheese boards. I decided to go with a slate cheeseboard in replacement of a traditional dinner plate so that my guests could create their own DIY charcuterie board while they mingled before dinner (this was also their gift to take home).
The tablescape wouldn’t have been as pretty without rentals from Plate Occasions and menus provided by Pink Peony Press.
Lastly, to add to all the sweetness of this milestone birthday I had a cake and mini donuts by Jenla Cakes and some candy spoons and candy shot glasses from Candy Cutlery.
Let’s just say that my guests were able to satisfy their cravings both sweet and savoury. My amazing friend and vendor Anita from Rhythm Photography captured all the details beautifully. You only turn 30 once so why not enter the next decade in style.
