We challenged 23 talented party vendors to design a party inspired by a USA location.

Creative Themes in Perth teamed up with Glass Slipper Entertainment for an absolutely magical Disneyland themed kids party.

What made you choose your location for United States of Party?

When looking for a location for the shoot there were two key factors that were important; one, that the venue had a large space that was a blank canvas so that we could recreate a mini Disneyland experience. The other, that the venue could be booked for children’s parties, so that readers could see the possibilities of having a Disneyland inspired party recreated at the venue with all the different lands, or one theme like a wonderland themed tea party with the Princess or an Interactive play zone in Adventure Land with the Cowboy and Cowgirl.

What inspired your shoot?

Children love all the wonder and magic of Disney, and we were inspired by the happiest place on earth to create this Disneyland Birthday Party.

We wanted to recreate some of the most magical moments at Disneyland, with singing and dancing in Main street, playtime in Adventure Land, Mad Tea Party in Wonderland, Storytime at the Royal Hall and a Fairy-tale Spa.

One of the most exciting experiences at Disneyland is the interaction that children have with their favourite characters, so the themed lands were designed so children could meet and share a magical moment with their favourite characters.

Did you incorporate any current party trends or DIYs in your shoot? If yes, what were they?

One of the current trends in children’s parties is having a designating interactive play area. We created an interactive play area in Adventure Land with play equipment from Perth Toy Hire, which we named after Disney Rides and attractions. This area was hosted by the Cowboy and Cowgirl to keep the children entertained. In Wonderland, we created the mad tea party where the guests got to enjoy custom mini personalised treats of donuts, tarts and cakes.

DIY element included custom designed autograph and Disneyland inspired passports, so the children could have their favourite characters write a message and receive a stamp at each land they visited.
